Ok, so I dropped my I pad mini. And I broke the inside of the screen cause there is a hardly noticeable green line at the corner of the I pad, and there are no cracks in the outside. I also have this grayish bar on the side of my I pad that sometimes changes colors, which is making the lighting of my I pad really dim and I can hardly see. Other than that the Ipad still works fine. How do I fix this, do I need to take apart the I pad mini? I have tried resetting it, and restoring it but they both do not work.
It's sounds like your LCD might be damaged. You would have to take the screen off to replace the LCD, with the iPad mini. I would try very hard to not damage the glass or digitizer so you can reuse it, many cheap after market screens with silver edges will only cause you problems. Also disconnect the battery and when doing that make sure you disconnect from the battery side if you go from the other side you will damage the back light fuse. Check out website from iPad rehab they have a great guide for you to follow.

For the answer I returned to Fix That Mac in Berkeley, California, and the mighty Rory Pierce for his perspective. Pierce has been busy lately with this particular repair, citing that the shop handles between five and 15 iPad mini repairs per month, then points to a white iPad mini with a cracked screen that fell face down onto a hard surface.
Hi guys my iPad Air 2 screen has cracked how can I be sure it's not the LCD aswell it seems to work fine and recognises the right place when I touch the screen it's Been like it for a while now but today's it keeps doing random things and I need to get it fixed I am looking to do it myself as I've fixed many phones but I don't want to spend a lot of money on a LCD when if it's just the screen it's very cheap can someone advise me please
By appearance a Cracked LCD is really different from a cracked touch screen digitizer . A cracked LCD will show either vertical lines, either vertical lines + a left or right part white, either a black part without image....
As reported above, things became more complicated since the Ipad Air 2 model. (I suppose the same for the Ipad Pro). With the Ipad air 2 the LCD and the touch screen are glued together . Before the LCD was screwed down on the frame so that there was no special risk to spoil it when disassembling the Touch Screen. (A special mention must be done to the terrible Ipad mini series !)
I have an iPad 2 that my grandson dropped and the screen is now cracked around the edge, none of the cracks extend into the touch area of the screen. All of the cracks are in the outside edge where the screen is black. Do I have to repair the LCD or is that something that can be fixed without replacing the LCD?
Having one scratch or crack on your iPad screen can be just as frustrating as having the whole screen shattered. That small imperfection can just glare at you every time you use your iPad and make you want to scream. Luckily, some people have learned how to fix a cracked iPad screen with toothpaste!

After spending so much money, you finally have that iPod Touch that you so desperately wanted. Now you can do many of the same things as your friends as you enjoy your newly obtained device. The front glass is cracked, and dark blobs/lines appear on the display. Unfortunately, this would indicate that the display is damaged, and a full-screen assembly will be required to repair the device.
This is an odd one as it covers display flickering or Multi-Touch issues after the iPhone has been dropped multiple times on a hard surface. If your device fits the bill, and the device isn't broken or the screen cracked, Apple will carry out a repair for $149.
As Apple unveiled the iPad mini to the world this afternoon, hundreds if not thousands of iOS developers wondered about the potential impact the device would have on their games. Depending on the screen size, resolution and overall design, they could have been staring at necessary software updates, similar to what took place with iPhone 5, when numerous studios scrambled to fit the smartphone's four-inch display.
There are no disadvantages for developers with iPad mini, apart from having to buy another piece of kit just to be sure. We already have to support this screen resolution for some of the other devices, and that's all that usually changes anyway. This means that when people get these machines home from the electronics store, everything's going to just work already, and that's good for everybody.
The iPad mini will be another interesting addition to the Apple portfolio, which will close the gap between the iPhone and the regular iPad. Due to the fact that the latter is rather big in size and cannot be stuffed into your pocket like a phone, it often appears as if people would preferably use it in situations where they have a bit more time to sit down and relax, like on a train or the couch. The iPad mini, on the other hand, can be carried around easily, even if you don't have a backpack, briefcase or bag with you, and hence it is to be expected that people will use it even more frequently than they use their regular iPad. If we're talking about gaming on the go, that's an advantage that should not be underestimated, especially for action-packed games with fast-paced gameplay. The iPad mini may even be better suited than the regular iPad, because it will be a bit less bulky and easier to hold. Though the screen of the iPad mini is comparatively small, it will still be big enough to show high-res graphics in all their glory.
For iOS developers, the release of the iPad mini does of course mean quite a bit of additional work, because it will require an optimization of the respective games for the new screen size and resolution. For a game like Galaxy on Fire 2 HD, this means that the whole user interface and control elements will have to be re-adjusted. But of course, this additional work will be more than worth it. After all, its pretty safe to say that a new iOS device is always going to be a commercial success.
I take my iPad around everywhere with me, restaurants and the movies, but that's me. I doubt that most people really take theirs with them everywhere. The iPad mini is great because not only is it easier to take with you, but the smaller form factor actually allows you to reach game elements in the middle of the screen when you are carrying it in your hands.
Mainly, I believe that the size difference we see in this new model will make gaming more accessible for smaller hands, younger children, and will allow far more mobility in terms of offering up entertainment no matter where you are. The original iPad is a little too large to be considered a take-along, and the iPhone is a little too small to offer a full-featured experience. The iPad mini will allow people to open up greater experiences no matter where they are. The only concern I would see here is that the screen space may detract in the controlling of a lot of applications that have been built for a larger screen. But with the iPhone gaming market doing so well, I can't see it being a major problem. 2ff7e9595c
